Waterborne alkyd resins have emerged as a sustainable solution for metal anti-corrosion coatings, combining the performance of traditional alkyds with eco-compliance. These resins form films through oxidative crosslinking, creating a dense barrier against moisture, oxygen, and ionic penetration. Key advantages in metal protection include:Low-VOC Formulation ,Enhanced Adhesion, Salt Spray Resistance,Rapid Air-Drying .
WL-0638 is a water-based alkyd resin designed for formulating water-based self-drying metal anti-rust primers and primer-topcoat combined coatings. It can also be used to prepare water-based amino baking paints, offering both protective and decorative properties for a wide range of metal products, including:Steel structures,Cranes,Construction machinerys,Agricultural equipments,Hardware tools,Steel cylinders,Pipes and valves.
WL-0638 resin is ideal for applications requiring durable corrosion resistance and aesthetic finishes in environmentally friendly, low-VOC coatings.

Properties
Instructions
First add 3-4% (by weight) dimethylethanolamine (DMEA) to WL-0638 for neutralizing, and then add water to dilute to produce self-drying or low-temperature baking anti-rust paint.
Addingmetal drier can accelerate the oxidative drying. It is recommended that the drier be added into the alkyd resin and mixed evenly before diluting with water. The amount is 3-5% of the weight of WL-0638. It should be determined by test.
It is also advised to add methyletherified amino resin to make amino baking curing anti-corrosive paint, the recommended amount of amino resin to be added is 10-30% of the solid weight of WL-0638
